The first pasture days of the year have come early this year and, boy, are the girls soaking it in. They know exactly which grasses are the most tender and delicious in our spring paddocks. The mamas are getting rounder (see top right pic) and aren’t as sprightly as they used to be as our June/July calving season approaches (I can’t wait!). They try to kick up their heels with the little heifers, but can’t quite keep up. Aren’t they looking beautiful, happy, and most importantly for us, healthy? For our first experience having a herd of cattle over winter, we are happy our girls have stayed so healthy and happy.
